Treatment Areas

1Preventive Treatment

  • Topical fluoride application: Fluoride is used to create a protective barrier on the teeth. This helps lower the chance of tooth decay by 46~60%.
  • Sealant (filling grooves in teeth): The grooves on the chewing surfaces of teeth are filled to prevent food from getting stuck. This treatment service can be paid for by the “permanent (molar) teeth insurance” for people under the age of 18. .

2Cavity Treatment

  • We select the best treatment method and material that are most ideal for our individual patients.

3Sedation Treatment for Improved Safety

  • Conscious sedation treatment is performed to ensure that the young patient stays comfortable during treatment. This approach is implemented for young children or a patient with a disability, who fears or is anxious about dental treatments or who cannot endure long hours of treatment.
  • Deep sedation treatment: This is a method used to induce sleep in patients as a way to help reduce stress on our young patients. A sedative is used to make sure that the treatment can be completed properly. Sun Dental Hospital has single-patient treatment rooms for safe and comfortable deep sedation treatment, and exclusive recovery rooms for patients after a deep sedation treatment. Also, we are equipped with an oxygen saturation measurement device to monitor our patient’s condition during sedation treatment to ensure safety. This method is effective for children who have an extreme fear of dental treatment, who require long hours of treatment, and who have difficulty in enduring long hours of treatment, as well as people with disabilities.
  • Laughing gas: The laughing gas is a colorless gas with a sweet smell. It makes children laugh, and eases anxiety and fear. This may be used for young children or in cases where the patient has a strong gag reflex.

4Extraction of Supernumerary Teeth

  • “Supernumerary teeth” means that there are an excess number of teeth compared to normal.
  • In most cases, the excess teeth are buried in the bones, and early discovery and prompt treatment are advised.

5Checkups for Babies

  • Consultation on the first baby teeth: The lower teeth begin to appear between the ages of 6 and 9 months. Most parents do not brush their infants’ teeth or continue breastfeeding at night without proper dental care. Without proper oral and dental care in infancy, the baby teeth become more vulnerable to cavities, and this can later impact the health of the permanent teeth. This is why new parents are recommended to seek dental consultation for their infants.
  • Regular cavity checkups: This is recommended after the oral health checkup stage, and around the time when children begin to eat more diverse types of snacks. Without early oral and dental care, multiple cavities can occur simultaneously. So, parents are advised to make regular cavity checkup appointments as a preventive measure.
